Cardiff Bay Yacht Club, in partnership with Portishead Cruising Club, ran the Shanghai Cup – Bristol Channel IRC Championships 2026 and the Nimrod Cup 2026 over the weekends of 9/10 May 2026 in Portishead with the second weekend taking place in Cardiff on 23/24 May 2026.
The Shanghai Cup is an IRC event, with The Nimrod Cup using local Cardiff Bay Ratings.
As the sponsor of RORC events, the Bristol Channel IRC Championships is sponsored by North Sails this year, who have been providing us with amazing prize packages.

Ctrl-J has retained the Shanghai Cup for another year, with Silverback V and Hero coming second and third places, and Corsair winning the Nimrod Cup, with Selkie and Gatsby gaining second & third. Also to mention is Hero who took the win the the standalone Passage Race from Portishead to Cardiff, along with Joyride and Marco Polo who took second and third.

Provisional dates for 2027 are 29/30 May 2026 in Portishead and 12/13 June 2026 in Cardiff. These will be officially confirmed soon.
